Are there fast food restaurants that can safely prepare gluten-free food?

The answer is yes. There’s actually many! I’ve compiled a list below.

Safe Fast Food Gluten-Free Options

All of these places have locations in the DC area. They are also gluten-free friendly. Furthermore, they have a reputation for taking the necessary precautions to prep celiac orders safely. However, make sure to double check. And always ask the necessary safety questions.

  • Chipotle- Mexican burrito bowl heaven! Just ask for them to change their gloves and grab fresh ingredients from the back before serving you to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Noodles and Company– American, Asian and Italian noodle dishes. Alert them that it is an allergy order and they will use a fresh pan free from cross-contamination and use rice, gluten-free or zucchini noodles.
  • Five Guys– Burgers and Fries. They have a dedicated fryer (Always make sure it is working that day) and will prepare your burger in a lettuce wrap or bowl for you.
  • Chick-Fil-A- They have a dedicated fryer (Always make sure it is working that day) and grilled chicken nuggets and sandwiches. They even offer gluten-free buns that arrive still sealed in their packaging.

  • Honeygrow-  Vegetable Stir-Fries. Alert them that it is an allergy order and they will use a fresh pan free from cross-contamination and use gluten-free ingredients.
  • Beefsteak Vegetables– Vegetables served every way imaginable! Just ask for them to change their gloves and grab fresh ingredients from the back before serving you to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Zoe’s Kitchen– Mediterranean. Alert them that it is an allergy order and they will use a fresh pan free from cross-contamination and use gluten-free ingredients.
  • McAlister’s Deli- Salads and stuffed potatoes. Alert them that it is an allergy order and ask for them to change their gloves and grab fresh ingredients before prepping your order to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Moe’s Southwest Grill- Tex-Mex salads and burrito bowls. Just ask for them to change their gloves and grab fresh ingredients from the back before serving you to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Jason’s Deli-  I have never seen a sandwich place that tries so hard to take gluten-cross-contamination seriously. They will not guarantee there’s no gluten- but, I think they’re pretty darn close. Check out their allergy practices in the link attached. They offer gluten-free bread and sides.

Hope this helps and please let me know of any more I missed! Thanks!
